Поиск по названию категории/подкатегории

Доброго времени суток.
Во время создания им возникли 2 трудности: 
1) При вводе в поиск (стандартный) названия категории или под категории ничего не найдено... Как переделать поиск не только по товарах ? 
2) Для улучшения поиска использую jquery autocomplete. Но он работает только с Английскими символами... Как переделать чтоб работал под Русские ? Знаю что нужно кодировать отправку :

А принимать так: 

$q = strtolower($_GET[‘q’]);
$q = urldecode($q); 

Но подскажите как принять правильно в Opencart ?
