Ничего не понял из настроек модуля.

Там какие-то схемы шаблонные по умолчанию, только размеры можно менять ,место публикации.

А где задать картинки и ссылки?

Может подойдёт этот модуль?

Проблема в том, что в шаблоне, места под баннеры оформлено в общем дизайне, если свободный html поставить, это оформление пропадет.

Единственное, управлять загрузкой картинок в слайдере, нужно в ява-скрипте, как я понимаю?

А какие значения там менять и какой из скриптов за слайдер отвечает?
