Доброго времени суток уважаемые, подскажите пожалуйста: нужно вывести в мегаменю описание или h1, по сути достаточно прописать в контроллер и в tpl файл запрос или что то ещё?

смотря что вывести.

возможно ещё что-то в модель прописать нужно
