This walkthrough takes you from installing the module to the first test order where every event (category view, product view, add to cart, checkout, shipping and payment selection, purchase) is visible in GA4, Meta, TikTok, and inside the module. Plan on 20-30 minutes of hands-on work.
Step 1. Install
After payment we send a ZIP with two builds — one for OpenCart 3.x (.twig) and one for OpenCart 2.3 (.tpl). Pick the one for your branch. Unpack, upload the contents of upload/ to your store root via FTP/SSH. In admin: Extensions → Modifications → Refresh, then Extensions → Extensions → Modules, find "OcBox AI Remarketing & Advanced Analytics" and hit "Install". A new item "OcBox Remarketing" appears in the left menu.
Step 2. Setup wizard
Open the module, click "Setup wizard" at the top — it walks you through the minimum set of steps. Every step has a "where to find this ID" link. Not every step is mandatory, enable only the networks you actually use.
Step 3. Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 tab: paste the Measurement ID G-XXXXXXXXXX. Optionally add an API Secret (GA4 → Admin → Data Streams → Web → Measurement Protocol API secrets). Hit "Send test event". Open GA4 → Configure → DebugView and confirm the event landed. If yes — GA4 is wired.
Step 4. Meta Pixel + Conversions API
Meta tab: Pixel ID (from Facebook Events Manager), Access Token (same page, "Generate Access Token" button), Test Event Code (for testing — from Test Events). Hit "Test event". In Facebook Events Manager → Test Events the event should appear. If yes — Meta is wired on client and server with event_id dedup.
Step 5. TikTok Pixel + Events API
TikTok tab: Pixel ID + Access Token from TikTok Events Manager. Hit "Test event", open Events Manager → Test Events. Event landed — done.
Step 6. Cookie consent banner (Consent Mode v2)
Consent (GDPR) tab: enable the "Consent Mode v2" switch. Choose banner position (bottom / top / centre), configure texts (Ukrainian, Russian, English). Choose which categories the shopper sees (necessary, analytics, marketing, functional). Consent cookie TTL usually 365 days. Save — the banner appears on every store page.
Step 7. Telegram notifications
Telegram tab: create a bot in @BotFather, take the Bot Token. Paste it in. Click "Auto-detect Chat ID" and send any message to the bot from your account — the module picks up the Chat ID. For a team: several Chat IDs comma-separated. For a specific group topic: -1001234567890:42. Choose which order statuses trigger a message. Place a test order — Telegram fires in a second.
Step 8. "Data Layer only" mode (if you already use GTM)
If you already run Google Tag Manager, flip the "Data Layer only" switch on the "Data Layer" tab — the module stops loading gtag.js and pixels on its own and only writes a clean dataLayer. GTM decides what to send where. No GTM — leave it off.
Step 9. Tracking self-check
AI Assistant tab → Tracking self-check. Click "Start check". Open the store in a new tab and walk through: category → product → add to cart → checkout → test order. Come back to the module → "Refresh". You see a table with a row per stage — a green "OK" on each = everything works.
Step 10. Google Merchant Feed (for Shopping / Google Ads dynamic remarketing)
Google Merchant Feed tab (if enabled). Copy the CRON command shown and add it to your hosting scheduler (typically daily). Hit "Build now" — the feed is built in background. The feed URL is shown on the page — add it in Google Merchant Center as a pull feed.
Step 11. What next
In 24 hours check GA4 → Reports → Realtime and GA4 → Monetization → Ecommerce purchases — real orders should show up with correct amount, brand and items. In Facebook Events Manager → Overview "Server events" and "Browser events" status should be green and showing activity. If something is off — "AI Assistant" will show a yellow warning, and "Tracking self-check" will pinpoint the stage.
