About This File
This module is an advanced search for Opencart and OcStore. It has much wider functionality and search capabilities than the standard Opencart search, and will also please you with high performance and low server load. Unlike the standard Opencart search, Fancy Search can display search results in a drop-down box below the search field, like in most online stores.
Search options:
1) Searches for products by name, product code (model, sku, upc, ean, etc.). Moreover, the searched product code does not have to exactly match the existing one: you can enter only part of the code in the field, or if the product code has a “-” symbol, then you don’t have to write it at all, or put a space in its place and the product will still be found.
2) If product reviews are allowed in the site settings, Fancy Search will show the best products first in the list
3) Clicking on the search field displays the user's search history. The search item is added to the history when you navigate to the search page.
4) Adds the ability to search for products of a certain category with a redirect to the category page, where the product filter will be displayed, if there is one.
5) Can search not only products, but also product categories. If you add meta keywords and description to the database, the search will improve.
6) If you have a website in several languages, then you can search for a product in any of the languages, the product will still be found.
Module settings:
1) Status (module enabled or disabled)
2) Show the “Search product in categories” block or not
3) Whether to search for categories or not
4) Show the "Search History" block or not
5) Limit of products displayed in the window (if there are more search results, the message “Show more” is displayed)
Localisation: Ukrainian, Russian, English
Developed for basic Opencart theme, but can work with most other themes, although yours may need to be customized to suit your design.
Module doesn't rewrite site files. Installation is very easy via the ocmod installer. After that, update the modification cache, go to Extension > Modules > Fancy Search – Advanced search for Opencart > edit module and set the status to “enabled” (file fancy_search_3_0.ocmod.zip for version Opencart/OcStore 3.0 / file fancy_search_2_3.ocmod.zip Opencart/OcStore 2.3)
