Hi! What version are you using? In theory, the formats allowed to import are: jpg, jpeg, png, gif and webp (however, Opencart is not prepared for process webp images...). All these image types has to be downloaded unless that exist some error in url or are corrupt images... about download link with parentheses, can you give me a real example? in theory also has to work fine. Hi! So, you configured "Product identifier" like "SKU", correct? remember that this value has to be UNIQUE, if you have repeated this value in file that you are importing, you will receive this error.

This is not a solution bu next reasons: For process a file, PHP needs first read completely. In case that we try "split" process in parts, the time spent in process it will be same or even larger. The unique REAL solution is split file in your pc and upload smaller files 1 per 1. Thanks!

If you have a good VPS server, you will can sync 60k products. You will have same problem with all another importers that you can try, this is not a problem from us, is a "problem/limitation" from poor servers.
