Странно, данная конструкция совершенно ничего не меняет) Как был 1 уровень вложенности, так и остался. -

А можно пример? -
Почему при формировании ссылки $link = $this->url->link('product/category', "path=".$child['category_id']); Формируется только сама категория без родительских т.е. http://category Хотя на самом деле ссылка такая http://category1/category2/category
